Our comprehensive guide provides simple yet effective tips to ensure your extensions remain healthy and vibrant. With a commitment to quality and expertise, we're here to support you on your journey to exquisite hair. Let's dive into the essentials of caring for your extensions and unleash their full potential.

BEFORE INSTALLATION

1. Wash With a Clarifying Shampoo

Ensure your new extensions dazzle from day one! Pre-wash with a clarifying shampoo to remove any residues, oils, or impurities accumulated during production and shipping.

This essential step guarantees a clean slate, allowing your extensions to blend seamlessly and shine brilliantly from the start.

2. Wash with a Moisturizing Shampoo

Follow up with a moisturizing shampoo to infuse hydration and restore softness, ensuring your extensions maintain their natural luster and silkiness.

This vital step primes your extensions for flawless wear, enhancing their longevity and beauty from the very first moment.

3.  Apply Conditioner & Rinse Until Water Runs Clear

This step helps to restore moisture, soften the hair fibers, and minimize tangles, ensuring a smoother and more natural blend with your own hair.

STRAIGHT & BODY WAVE TEXTURES

Washing Your Hair Extensions:

  1. Begin by gently detangling your hair extensions with a wide-tooth comb or paddle brush.

  2. Wet the hair extensions with lukewarm water.

  3. Apply a small amount of sulfate-free shampoo to your hands and lather it into the hair, focusing on the roots and gently working your way down to the ends.

  4. Rinse the shampoo out thoroughly with lukewarm water.

  5. Apply a generous amount of conditioner to the hair, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends. Avoid the roots to prevent weighing down the hair.

  6. Leave the conditioner on for a few minutes, then rinse it out with lukewarm water.

Combing Technique:

When combing your hair extensions, always start from the bottom and work your way up towards the roots to prevent breakage and minimize tangling.

Use a wide-tooth comb or paddle brush for gentle detangling.

Trimming for Polished Look:

Trim the ends of your hair extensions once installed, removing at least 1 inch.

All hair extensions include extra length to allow for this trimming process.

Avoid Oil-Based Products:

Refrain from using oil-based hair products as they can weigh down the hair extensions and cause build-up.

Weekly Washing:

Wash your hair extensions weekly or as needed when they start to feel weighed down or oily.

If using products such as Holding spray, Serums, Etc.; it's recommended to wash your extensions once you realize that the extensions seem weighed down or not holding the style as when "freshly washed".

 Heat Protection:

Always use a heat protectant spray or light serum before using any heat tools, including blow drying, to shield the hair from damage.

Daily Care:

Daily combing or brushing is recommended, especially for longer lengths, to maintain the hair extensions' smoothness and prevent tangling.

Style Tips:

  • For a sleek, bouncy look, blow dry the hair as straight as possible before using a flat iron or curling iron.

  • When "pressing" your hair extensions, use the "chase method" with a Fine Tooth Comb (After Blow Drying)

  • Never attempt to utilize Heat Tools on Wet/Damp Hair Extensions.

Coloring Process:

If you intend to color your hair extensions, consult a licensed hair professional.

The coloring process involves chemicals that, if not executed correctly, can potentially damage the extensions.

Night Care:

For straightened or curled looks, wrap the hair around your head's circumference and secure it with a silk scarf.

Maintain heat-styled curls by wrapping the hair around the head or using rollers or flexi rods. Secure with a silk scarf or bonnet.

WAVY & CURLY TEXTURES

Pre-Wash Detangling:

Before washing your wavy/curly hair extensions, it's essential to detangle them to prevent damage.

Start by dampening the extensions with water. If they are tangled due to lack of maintenance, apply a conditioner to help detangle the strands gently.

Always use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to detangle, starting from the bottom and working your way up to the roots.

Combing Technique:

When combing your hair extensions, always start from the bottom and work your way up towards the roots to prevent breakage and minimize tangling.

Shampooing:

Select a sulfate-free shampoo specifically formulated for curly hair.

Wet your extensions with lukewarm water and apply a small amount of shampoo to your extensions. Massage gently to cleanse the extensions and remove any buildup. Rinse thoroughly with water. (We Recommend Shampooing twice if oil/product buildup is present.)

Conditioning:

Apply a generous amount of conditioner to the lengths and ends of your hair extensions, focusing on areas prone to any dryness.

Leave the conditioner on for a few minutes to allow for deep hydration.

For added moisture and definition, consider using a leave-in conditioner or curl cream after rinsing out the regular conditioner.

Allow your hair to Air Dry/Use a Diffuser on Low Setting.

Refreshing Curls/Waves:

Throughout the day, you can refresh your curls or waves by using a spray bottle filled with cold water.

Lightly mist your hair extensions and scrunch them gently to revive the curl pattern.

Avoid using oil-based products, as they can weigh down the hair and cause buildup.

Washing Schedule:

Wavy/curly hair extensions should be washed once a week or as needed when they start feeling weighed down or oily.

Over-washing can strip the hair of its natural oils, leading to dryness and frizz.

Heat Protection:

Before using any heat styling tools such as blow dryers or straighteners, ALWAYS apply a heat protectant spray or light serum to your hair extensions.

This helps to shield the hair from heat damage and maintain its integrity.

If styling your hair in a straightened state, it is recommended to blow dry completely on low-medium setting until completely dry before pressing/curling.

Combing/Brushing:

Daily combing or brushing is recommended, especially for longer lengths, to prevent tangling and matting.

Only comb or brush your hair extensions when they are wet or damp to minimize breakage. Start from the bottom and gently work your way up to the roots using a wide-tooth comb or a brush specifically designed for curly hair.

Coloring:

If you plan to color your hair extensions with semi-permanent or permanent dyes, it's crucial to consult a licensed hair professional.

The coloring process involves chemicals that can potentially damage the extensions if not executed correctly.

Night Care:

Before bedtime, dampen your hair extensions with water and apply a small amount of leave-in conditioner or curl cream.

Divide the hair into 4-10 sections and twist or braid each section to maintain curl definition and prevent tangling while sleeping.

Alternatively, gather the hair into a loose bun on top of your head (pineapple method) if not twisting or braiding. Sleep on a silk pillowcase or use a silk bonnet to minimize friction and preserve the integrity of your curls.

Follow these comprehensive care tips to keep your wavy/curly hair extensions looking vibrant, healthy, and beautiful for longer!

BURMY TEXTURE

To ensure that your extensions remain beautiful and maintain their curl pattern, it's essential to follow a proper care routine. Below are detailed instructions on how to care for your Burmy hair extensions to keep them looking fabulous for as long as possible.

***IMPORTANT: Read Before Installing Your Burmy Hair Extensions***

While our Burmy Curly Hair Extensions can be straightened and colored, we recommend minimizing heat styling and color processing to maintain the natural curl definition and overall health of the hair. Just like curly hair growing out of your scalp, these extensions will look their best with limited exposure to heat and chemicals.

To keep your Burmy Curly extensions looking their best, we suggest using protective styles such as twist-outs, braids, or bantu knots. These styles help preserve the curls and reduce the need for heat styling.

If you choose to use heat tools to straighten or curl your extensions, we STRONGLY encourage the use of a heat protectant. Additionally, visiting a professional hair care expert for these processes is highly recommended to avoid potential damage. The same advice applies if you decide to color process your extensions. Professional assistance ensures the proper techniques are used, preserving the integrity of the hair.

Remember that detangling or combing should only be done on wet or damp hair extensions. Attempting to detangle dry hair improperly can cause breakage, tangling, and damage to the hair strands.

Following these guidelines will help you enjoy your Burmy Hair Extensions for a longer period while keeping them vibrant and healthy.

Maintaining Hydration:

1. Hydration is Key: Curly hair requires ample hydration to maintain its bounce and luster. Begin by dampening your hair with water.

2. Apply Leave-In Conditioner: After dampening your hair, apply a generous amount of leave-in conditioner from roots to ends. This will help lock in moisture and keep your curls nourished.

3. Follow with Mousse: Once the leave-in conditioner is applied, follow up with a lightweight Curl-Defining mousse specifically formulated for curly hair. The mousse will provide additional hydration and help define your curls.

Detangling Process:

1. Gentle Detangling: To prevent excess shedding and breakage, it's essential to detangle your BURMY hair gently. Begin by holding the hair at the weft and detangle starting from the ends, working your way up to the weft.

2. Use a Wide-Tooth Comb or Fingers: Opt for a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to detangle your curls. This will help minimize breakage and ensure a smooth detangling process.

Combing Technique:

When combing your hair extensions, always start from the bottom and work your way up towards the roots to prevent breakage and minimize tangling.

Styling and Drying:

1. Section Your Hair: After detangling, divide your hair into manageable sections. This will make styling easier and ensure that each curl gets the attention it needs.

2. Two-Strand Twists: Take each section of hair and create

two-strand twists.

Aim for 10-14 twists, depending on the thickness of your hair and the desired curl pattern.

3. Air Dry or Use a Diffuser: Allow your hair to air dry naturally for a more defined curl pattern. Alternatively, if you're short on time or want extra definition, use a blow dryer with a diffuser attachment. Set the dryer to a low or medium heat setting to prevent heat damage.

How to Define Curls & Minimize Frizziness:

Pineapple Your Hair at Night: To preserve your curls overnight and minimize frizz, try "pineappling" your hair.

Gather your curls loosely at the top of your head and secure them with a satin scrunchie or hair tie.

This will help maintain your curl pattern while you sleep.

Avoid Over-Handling: Refrain from touching your curls excessively, as this can disrupt the curl pattern and cause frizz. Instead, allow your curls to air dry or use a diffuser on a low heat setting to dry them gently.

Use a Silk or Satin Pillowcase/Bonnet: Sleeping on a silk/satin pillowcase or utilizing a Silk/Satin Hair Bonnet can help to prevent friction and reduce frizz while you sleep.

These fabrics are gentler on your hair compared to cotton, which can cause friction and lead to frizz.

Apply a Hair Oil or Serum: To add shine and further reduce frizz, apply a dime-size amount of hair oil or serum to your curls.

Focus on the mid-lengths and ends of your hair, avoiding the roots to prevent greasiness.

Refresh Curls with a Water-Based Spray: Throughout the day, if your curls start to lose their definition, refresh them with a water-based curl revitalizing spray.

Simply mist your curls lightly and scrunch them gently to revive their shape.

Use Anti-Frizz Products: Consider using anti-frizz products, such as serums or creams, to tame frizz and flyaways.

Apply a small amount to your palms and lightly scrunch the product into your curls.

Regular Maintenance:

Refresh Curls Between Washes: To revive your curls between washes, use a mixture of water and leave-in conditioner in a spray bottle. Lightly mist your hair, scrunching as you go, to rejuvenate your curls.

Protective Styling: Consider protective styles, such as braids or twists, to give your curls a break from manipulation and styling. This can help maintain the health and integrity of your hair in the long run.

By following these care instructions and incorporating them into your hair care routine, you can ensure that your BURMY hair stays hydrated, defined, and frizz-free, allowing you to flaunt your beautiful curls with confidence.

Scent of Hair Extensions

At The Firas Collection, we are committed to providing our customers with the highest quality human hair extensions. It's important to note that, due to the nature of these extensions, they may exhibit a slight scent upon receipt. This is a normal characteristic and can be resolved through proper care and maintenance.

Resolution: If you encounter a scent with your hair extension product, we recommend the following steps for resolution:

1.   Wash with Clarifying Shampoo:  Begin by washing your hair extension product with a clarifying shampoo. This type of shampoo is designed to effectively remove any residual scents or product buildup. Gently lather the clarifying shampoo into the hair, focusing on the areas where the scent is noticeable. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

2.   Deep Moisturizing Conditioner:  After using the clarifying shampoo, apply a deep moisturizing conditioner to the hair. This will help restore moisture and leave the hair feeling soft and revitalized. Leave the conditioner on for the recommended duration, then rinse with cool water.

3.  Air Dry:  Allow the hair extension product to air dry naturally or use a blow dryer on a low-heat setting if needed.

These steps should effectively eliminate any residual scent from your hair extensions. It's important to remember that the scent is a temporary characteristic and is not an indication of the quality of the product. Human hair extensions can sometimes retain odors from the manufacturing and packaging processes, but they can be refreshed and revitalized with proper care.

Please note that while our manufacturing and fulfillment team diligently inspects all products to meet The Firas Collection's quality standards, we recognize that each customer may have unique hair extension quality expectations.

We strongly advise customers to inspect all received products before removing the product's blue tag, as this action makes the item ineligible for any form of exchange or return.
